Kstovo
Kstovo is a town and the administrative center of Kstovsky District in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. It is located on the right bank of the Volga River, approximately 27 kilometers (17 mi) southeast of Nizhny Novgorod.
Historically, the area was populated by Mordvin people. The modern settlement developed in the 14th century. Kstovo was granted town status in 1957.
Kstovo is a significant industrial center, primarily focused on petrochemicals and oil refining. One of the largest oil refineries in Russia, owned by Lukoil, is located in Kstovo. The town also has industries producing building materials and food products.
The town is served by a railway station on the Moscow-Nizhny Novgorod line and is connected to Nizhny Novgorod by road. The Volga River also provides transportation access.
Kstovo is home to several educational institutions, including branches of universities and colleges. Cultural institutions include museums and a cultural center.
