Allan Young (cricketer)
Allan Young (born 21 April 1952) is a former English first-class cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman who played primarily for Northamptonshire.
Young made his first-class debut for Northamptonshire in 1975 against Oxford University, scoring 40 runs in the first innings. He played intermittently for the county until 1984. During his career, he scored over 4,000 first-class runs, including four centuries, with a highest score of 148 against Sussex in 1983. He also took a few catches as a fielder.
Young also played List A cricket for Northamptonshire, appearing in over 50 matches. He was a consistent performer in the shorter format, contributing valuable runs to the team's batting lineup. After retiring from professional cricket, he remained involved in the sport at the club level.
