Alexander Campbell (dancer)

Alexander Campbell (born 1986) is a Northern Irish ballet dancer, currently a Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet in London.

Campbell trained at the Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham and the Royal Ballet School. He joined The Royal Ballet in 2005 and was promoted to First Artist in 2007, Soloist in 2009, First Soloist in 2011, and Principal in 2016.

His repertoire includes leading roles in a wide range of classical and contemporary ballets, including Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Manon, Mayerling, The Nutcracker, La Fille mal gardée, Giselle, Onegin, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, and Woolf Works. He has also created roles in new works by choreographers such as Wayne McGregor, Liam Scarlett, and Christopher Wheeldon.

Campbell has won several awards, including the Critics' Circle National Dance Award for Best Male Dancer in 2018. He is known for his musicality, technical precision, and dramatic interpretation. He is frequently partnered with leading ballerinas such as Marianela Nuñez, Natalia Osipova, and Sarah Lamb.
