Alex Mortensen (footballer)

Alex Mortensen is an American football coach and former player. He currently serves as the tight ends coach at Alabama.

Mortensen played quarterback at Arkansas from 2005-2008. Prior to Arkansas, he played at Shawnee Mission East High School in Prairie Village, Kansas.

After his playing career, Mortensen entered the coaching ranks, holding various roles, including offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, at multiple high schools and colleges. He spent time at Samford University as an offensive assistant. He also held positions at UAB and UCF.

Mortensen joined the Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff in 2023.
