Strathkelvin and Bearsden (Scottish Parliament constituency)
Strathkelvin and Bearsden is a constituency of the Scottish Parliament (Holyrood). It elects one Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) by the first past the post method of election. It is one of eight constituencies within the West Scotland electoral region, which elects seven additional members to produce a form of proportional representation for the region as a whole.
The constituency was created in 2011 from parts of the former constituencies of Strathkelvin and Bearsden and Clydebank and Milngavie. It covers an area to the north and west of Glasgow, including towns and villages such as Bearsden, Milngavie, Bishopbriggs, and Kirkintilloch.
The current MSP is Rona Mackay of the Scottish National Party (SNP), elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2021. Prior to 2016, the MSP was Fiona McLeod, also of the SNP.
The boundaries of the Strathkelvin and Bearsden constituency are defined by the Representation of the People Act 2000 (Scotland) Order 2010.
