HMS St Michael (1669)
The HMS St Michael was a 90-gun second-rate ship of the line of the English Royal Navy, later the British Royal Navy.
Originally built at Harwich Dockyard by shipwright Isaac Betts, she was launched in 1669. She was rebuilt in 1699 at Woolwich Dockyard, remaining a 90-gun second rate.
In 1705, under the command of Sir John Leake, she participated in the capture of Gibraltar and the subsequent Battle of Málaga.
The St Michael was taken to pieces and rebuilt for a second time at Portsmouth Dockyard in 1706, again as a 90-gun second rate.
In 1734, the St Michael was ordered to be taken to pieces and rebuilt yet again, this time at Plymouth Dockyard. This final rebuild was completed in 1737, and she was relaunched as a 90-gun second rate, built according to the 1733 Establishment.
She was finally broken up in 1747.
