Weekend (Welsh band)

Weekend was a Welsh indie pop band active primarily in the 1980s. Formed in Cardiff, they are best known for their jangly guitar-driven sound and introspective lyrics, often drawing comparisons to bands like The Smiths and The Go-Betweens. The band's lineup consisted of Simon Booth (vocals, guitar), Alan Thomas (guitar), Gareth Thomas (bass), and Nicholas Beese (drums).

Weekend released several singles and EPs throughout their career, gaining a following within the alternative music scene. While never achieving mainstream commercial success, they are remembered for their contributions to the independent music landscape of the era. They were associated with the Postcard Records-influenced scene in Wales at the time.
