66 Cancri
66 Cancri is a star located in the constellation Cancer. It is a yellow G-type giant star, meaning it is larger and more luminous than our Sun and is in a later stage of its stellar evolution, having exhausted the hydrogen fuel in its core. 66 Cancri is visible to the naked eye under reasonably dark skies, possessing an apparent magnitude of approximately 5.89.
The star is located at a distance of roughly 166 light-years from Earth. Its spectral type is G8III, indicating its surface temperature and luminosity class. Precise measurements of its properties such as mass, radius, and luminosity are still being refined through ongoing astronomical observations.
Because of its relatively bright apparent magnitude, 66 Cancri has been included in numerous star catalogs and astronomical surveys. Its position in the sky is approximately right ascension 08h 53m 14.64s and declination +43° 21' 46.6". It is not known to have any companion stars or exoplanets.
