Álvaro Montero (Colombian footballer)

Álvaro Montero (born March 29, 1995) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Millonarios F.C. and the Colombia national team.

Montero began his professional career with Fortaleza CEIF in Colombia. He gained prominence through his performances for Cúcuta Deportivo, where he consistently demonstrated his shot-stopping abilities and contributed to the team's defensive stability. His performances attracted attention from other Colombian clubs, as well as international scouts.

He later joined Deportes Tolima, where he further enhanced his reputation as one of the top goalkeepers in the Colombian league. He was a key player for Deportes Tolima, helping them win the Copa Colombia in 2020 and the Liga Colombiana Apertura in 2021.

In 2022, Montero signed with Millonarios F.C., one of the most prestigious clubs in Colombia.
