Álvaro González (born January 8, 1984), also known as Álvaro, is a Uruguayan professional footballer who primarily plays as a defensive midfielder.

Career

Álvaro González began his professional career in Uruguay with Defensor Sporting, where he quickly established himself as a key player. His performances earned him a move to Argentina, playing for Boca Juniors.

Subsequently, he played in Italy, representing Lazio. He also had spells with Torino, both on loan and permanently.
