"Heroes" (album)

Heroes is the twelfth studio album by English musician David Bowie, released on 14 October 1977 through RCA Records. It is the second installment of his "Berlin Trilogy" with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti, following Low (1977) and preceding Lodger (1979). Much like Low, Heroes continued to explore ambient and art rock styles.

The album was recorded at Hansa Studios in West Berlin, a studio situated near the Berlin Wall, an influence that is evident in the album's title track, "Heroes". The track became one of Bowie's most recognizable and enduring songs, a powerful anthem about finding heroism in everyday life.

Heroes features a blend of experimental instrumental pieces, spearheaded by Eno's synthesizers and Robert Fripp's guitar work, alongside more straightforward rock songs. Themes explored on the album include division, Cold War anxiety, and the human spirit's capacity for resilience.

Notable tracks besides the title track include "Beauty and the Beast," and the instrumental pieces "Sense of Doubt" and "Neuköln." Heroes reached number 3 in the UK Albums Chart and number 35 in the US Billboard 200 chart.

The album has received considerable critical acclaim over the years and is regarded as one of Bowie's best and most influential works. Its innovative sound and themes have inspired countless artists in various genres.
