Zwrotnica

A zwrotnica, in Polish, refers to a railway turnout or switch. It is a mechanical installation that allows trains to be guided from one track to another at a railway junction or siding. The core function of a zwrotnica is to diverge the train's wheels, directing them onto a different set of rails. This is achieved through a set of movable rails, called points, that can be set to guide the train in the desired direction.
