Zou Zheng
Zou Zheng (邹正) is a Chinese former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is best known for his time with Qingdao Jonoon and Guangzhou Evergrande.
Zou Zheng began his football career with Qingdao Jonoon, progressing through their youth academy before establishing himself as a key player for the senior team. He primarily played as a left-back, known for his defensive capabilities, tackling ability, and occasional forward runs.
In 2015, Zou Zheng transferred to Guangzhou Evergrande, a leading club in the Chinese Super League. He quickly became a valuable member of the squad, contributing to their success both domestically and in the AFC Champions League. However, his time at Guangzhou Evergrande was unfortunately marked by a severe leg injury sustained during the 2015 FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against Barcelona.
Following his recovery from the injury, he continued to play professionally but ultimately retired. Throughout his career, Zou Zheng was considered a reliable and hardworking defender, respected by teammates and opponents alike. His dedication and perseverance, particularly in overcoming his serious injury, were widely admired.
