Yuko Shimizu is a New York-based Japanese illustrator known for her distinctive style that blends Japanese and Western influences. Her work often features strong female characters, mythical creatures, and themes of sexuality, violence, and social commentary, all rendered with elegant lines and a delicate use of color.
Born and raised in Japan, Shimizu initially pursued a career in corporate public relations before moving to New York City in 1999. She subsequently transitioned to illustration, studying at the School of Visual Arts.
