Wrightwood station (CTA)
Wrightwood station was a former 'L' station on the Chicago "L" system, specifically located on the Garfield Park branch of the Metropolitan West Side Elevated Railroad. It was situated at Wrightwood Avenue (now Fullerton Avenue) and Crawford Avenue (now Pulaski Road) in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago.
The station originally opened in 1895 as part of the initial Garfield Park branch. It primarily served the local residential area and provided access to nearby businesses.
Wrightwood station closed in 1953, along with several other stations along the Garfield Park branch, as part of a line conversion project. The Garfield Park branch was relocated to the median of the Congress Expressway (now the Eisenhower Expressway) and became part of the Congress branch (now the Blue Line). The older stations along the surface-level alignment, including Wrightwood, were deemed redundant and subsequently demolished. No trace of the station remains today.
