Woodbine, Iowa

Woodbine is a city in Harrison County, Iowa, United States. It is situated along the Boyer River and is part of the Omaha–Council Bluffs metropolitan area.

History:

The town was platted in 1866 and named for the woodbine vine that grew abundantly in the area. The railroad played a significant role in its early development and growth.

Geography:

Woodbine is located at approximately 41°44′28″N 95°52′23″W (41.741021, -95.873094). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of approximately 2.15 square miles (5.57 km2), all of it land.

Demographics:

As of the census of 2020, the population of Woodbine was 1,591. The population density was approximately 740.0 inhabitants per square mile (285.7/km2). The racial makeup of the city was predominantly White, with smaller percentages of other races.
