William Wrightson (MP, born 1676)
William Wrightson (c. 1676 – 28 November 1760) was a British landowner and Whig politician.
Wrightson was the son of William Wrightson of Cusworth Hall, near Doncaster, Yorkshire, and his wife Anne Beaumont. He inherited his father's estates in 1701.
He served as Member of Parliament for Newcastle-upon-Tyne from 1710 to 1722 and again from 1727 to 1741. He was also High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1707.
Wrightson married Isabella Gee, daughter of Sir Orlando Gee of Bishop Burton, Yorkshire, in 1701. They had one daughter, Isabella, who married John Battie. Upon John Battie's death in 1746, Isabella remarried John Hewley. William Wrightson's estates ultimately passed to his great-nephew, William Battie-Wrightson.
