William Bakewell (politician)

William Bakewell (1791 – 1866) was an American politician and businessman. He served as the fifth Mayor of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from 1828 to 1830.

Born in England, Bakewell immigrated to the United States and became a prominent merchant and iron manufacturer in Pittsburgh. He was heavily involved in the city's burgeoning industrial development.
