Whatchamacallit (candy)

The Whatchamacallit is a candy bar manufactured by The Hershey Company. First introduced in 1978, it originally featured a peanut-flavored crisp rice wafer coated in a thin layer of chocolate. The composition of the bar has changed several times throughout its history.

The current formulation, introduced in 2016, features a layer of peanut-flavored crisp, a layer of caramel, and a coating of milk chocolate. Previous versions included ingredients like peanut butter and chocolate cookie crumbs.

The name "Whatchamacallit" was chosen to be intentionally vague and memorable, reflecting the candy bar's unusual and varied ingredients. The candy bar is sold individually and in multi-packs and is widely available in the United States and some international markets. Its advertising campaigns have often emphasized the whimsical nature of its name and ingredients.
