Lionel de Rothschild (born 1882)

Lionel Nathan de Rothschild (1882-1942) was a British banker, politician, and zoologist, belonging to the prominent Rothschild family. He was the eldest son of Walter Rothschild, 2nd Baron Rothschild, and served as a Member of Parliament for Aylesbury from 1910 to 1923.

He was a partner in the family banking firm N M Rothschild & Sons. He was also a noted zoologist, following in his father's footsteps, and made significant contributions to the Tring Museum, established by his father.

His parliamentary career focused on financial matters, given his expertise in banking. He maintained a strong interest in natural history throughout his life.
