Los Romeos (Spanish band)

Los Romeos were a Spanish pop band active primarily during the 1980s and early 1990s, associated with the movida madrileña, the cultural and artistic renaissance that took place in Madrid after the end of Franco's dictatorship. Known for their catchy melodies, ironic lyrics, and distinctive visual style, they achieved considerable success in Spain and some recognition internationally.

The band was formed in Vigo, Galicia, and consisted of Rafa Spunky (vocals), Javier Romero (guitar), Alfredo Domínguez (bass), and Pilar Lojo (drums). Their music blended influences from British pop, new wave, and Spanish musical traditions. Their sound was characterized by simple, yet effective arrangements, emphasizing catchy hooks and memorable choruses.

Some of their most well-known songs include "La Puerta de al Lado," "Ponte de Pier," and "Me Gusta la Televisión." These songs, and others from their discography, were frequently featured on Spanish radio and television, contributing to their popularity.

Los Romeos released several studio albums, solidifying their position within the Spanish pop music scene. While they eventually disbanded, their music continues to be appreciated and remembered by many fans of the movida madrileña and Spanish pop from the 1980s. Their influence can be seen in subsequent generations of Spanish musicians.
