Carlos Torres (pitcher)
Carlos Torres (born October 22, 1982) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, and Washington Nationals.
Torres attended Santa Ana College and Orange Coast College. He was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 35th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft.
He made his MLB debut with the White Sox on September 22, 2009. After several seasons in the White Sox organization, he was traded to the Colorado Rockies in 2011. Torres then played for the New York Mets, where he enjoyed his most consistent success as a reliable bullpen arm. He also played for the Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, and Washington Nationals before his MLB career concluded.
Torres was primarily known for his sinker and slider, which he used to generate ground balls. He was a valuable reliever for several teams throughout his career, often used in middle relief situations. After his playing career, he has been involved in coaching and mentoring young players.
