Wassup (group)

Wassup was a South Korean hip-hop and dance group formed in 2013 under Mafia Records. The group gained initial attention for its twerking-heavy choreography and "Wassup" catchphrase, which became part of their branding.

The group originally consisted of seven members: Jinju, Dain, Nada, Nari, Jiae, Woojoo, and Sujin. Over time, there were member departures and additions. Nada, known for her strong rapping skills, left the group in 2016 to pursue a solo career. Other members, including Jinju and Dain, also eventually departed.

Wassup released several singles and EPs throughout their career, exploring various styles within the hip-hop and dance genres. Some of their notable tracks include "Wassup," "Nom Nom Nom," and "Stupid Liar."

Despite generating some initial buzz, Wassup struggled to achieve mainstream success and faced challenges related to changing musical trends and member stability. The group eventually disbanded, with members pursuing individual projects in music, acting, and other entertainment fields. The group's legacy is primarily remembered for their early twerking-focused performances and the brief attention they garnered during their active years.
