HMAS Westralia (F95)

HMAS Westralia (F95) was a modified River-class destroyer escort of the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Originally built for the Royal Navy as HMS Dido, she was transferred to the RAN prior to commissioning in 1961. Following service as a destroyer escort, Westralia was converted to a fleet oiler and entered service in her new role in 1975.

As a destroyer escort, Westralia served primarily in Southeast Asian waters, participating in exercises and fleet deployments. After conversion, she provided underway replenishment services to the RAN and allied naval vessels throughout the Pacific and Indian Oceans.

During her service as a fleet oiler, Westralia was involved in several notable incidents, including collisions and fires. These incidents resulted in periods of repair and refit.

Westralia was decommissioned from the RAN in 1998 and subsequently sold for scrap.
