Washington Avenue is a major east-west thoroughfare in Albany, New York. It stretches from the city's western border with Guilderland eastward to Eagle Street near the New York State Capitol Building.
Historically, Washington Avenue has been known under different names, including the Great Western Turnpike and Patroon Street. Its current name honors George Washington.
