Jim Beam

Jim Beam is a brand of Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey produced by Beam Suntory, a subsidiary of Suntory Holdings of Osaka, Japan. It is one of the best-selling brands of bourbon worldwide.

The Jim Beam distillery was founded in 1795 by Jacob Beam in Bardstown, Kentucky. Originally known as "Old Tub," the bourbon was renamed "Jim Beam" in 1943 in honor of James Beauregard Beam, Jacob Beam's great-grandson, who rebuilt the distillery after Prohibition. James Beam is credited with modernizing the bourbon-making process.

Jim Beam bourbon is made from a mash bill of at least 51% corn, along with rye and barley. It is aged in new, charred American white oak barrels. The company produces a variety of Jim Beam products, including Jim Beam White Label (the standard offering), Jim Beam Black, Jim Beam Double Oak, and flavored variations such as Jim Beam Apple and Jim Beam Vanilla. They also produce other whiskeys under the Jim Beam name, such as rye whiskey.

The Jim Beam brand is heavily marketed and widely available globally. It is often consumed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails.
