Stark (crater)

Stark is a lunar impact crater that lies on the far side of the Moon. It is located to the east of the crater Moore, and northwest of the larger crater Tyndall.

This crater is relatively well-formed, with a sharp-edged rim that has suffered only minor erosion. The inner walls are terraced, and slope down to a relatively flat, irregular interior floor. There is a small central peak formation at the midpoint of the crater floor. A few tiny craterlets lie along the inner walls.

The crater is named after German-American physicist Johannes Stark, a Nobel laureate.
