WSUN-TV

WSUN-TV is a television station licensed to St. Petersburg, Florida, United States, broadcasting on digital channel 38 and virtual channel 38. It is an owned-and-operated station of the ShopHQ network (formerly known as Evine Live and ShopNBC). WSUN-TV's transmitter is located in Riverview, Florida.

The station's history dates back to its original construction permit in 1953. Originally intended to be affiliated with ABC, difficulties arose, and the station eventually signed on the air on May 18, 1955, as an independent station. It faced financial struggles early on. Over the years, it has held affiliations with various networks, including CBS and later NTA Film Network.

WSUN-TV experienced periods of being dark (off the air) at various points in its history due to financial issues and ownership changes. It has also operated under different call signs, including WTVT (later reassigned to another Tampa station) and WTSP-TV.

In 2017, the station was acquired by EVINE Live Inc. (now ShopHQ) and became an owned-and-operated station of the home shopping network. It broadcasts ShopHQ programming for the majority of its broadcast day.
