The call letters, WSAJ, stand for Westminster Students Association Journal. The station was originally owned and operated by Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. Although no longer owned by the college, the call letters have been retained.

WSAJ (AM) operates with a daytime power of 5,000 watts and reduces power to 500 watts during nighttime hours to protect other stations on the same frequency.
