The Winner (TV series)
The Winner is an American sitcom that aired on Fox from March 4, 2007, to May 20, 2007. The series was created by Ricky Blitt and Seth MacFarlane.
The show revolves around Glen Abbott (Rob Corddry), a successful 43-year-old man who recounts stories of his life growing up in 1994 as a teenager (played by Dakota Johnson as young Glen). Much of the humor derives from Glen's questionable decisions and immature behavior. The series focuses on his relationship with his single-mother neighbor, Allison (Erinn Hayes), and her son, Kent (Keir Gilchrist), with whom Glen becomes surprisingly close.
Recurring themes include Glen's entrepreneurial endeavors, often ill-conceived and poorly executed, and his attempts to navigate the social dynamics of adolescence despite his adult status in the flashbacks.
The show was canceled after one season due to low ratings. Despite its short run, it has gained a cult following for its quirky humor and Corddry's portrayal of the eccentric Glen Abbott. The show's other main cast members include Stephanie Hunt as Alison's friend, Pam, and Jenny Wade as Glen's occasional love interest, Megan.
