Lima (footballer, born 1942)

Lima, full name José de Lima Siqueira, (born January 28, 1942) is a former Brazilian football (soccer) player. He primarily played as a defender.

Lima spent the majority of his career playing for Santos FC. He was a key member of the Santos team during the 1960s, a period widely considered the club's golden era, playing alongside legends such as Pelé. He was known for his strong tackling ability and tactical awareness.

During his time at Santos, Lima won numerous titles, including multiple Campeonato Paulista (São Paulo State Championship) titles, several Taça Brasil (Brazilian Championship) titles, and two Copa Libertadores titles (South American Club Championship). He also won two Intercontinental Cups with Santos.

Lima also represented the Brazilian national team, though his international career was less extensive than his club career due to the strong competition for places in the national team. He was part of the Brazil squad that competed in the 1966 FIFA World Cup in England.

After retiring from professional football, Lima remained connected to the sport. He has occasionally worked as a coach and has been involved in youth development programs. He is considered a significant figure in Santos FC's history.
