Vladimir Kazantsev (athlete)

Vladimir Mikhailovich Kazantsev (Russian: Владимир Михайлович Казанцев, January 6, 1923 – October 20, 2007) was a Soviet athlete who competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

Kazantsev won the silver medal in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, finishing behind Horace Ashenfelter. Prior to the Olympics, in 1951, he set a new world record in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 8:49.6 at a meeting in Moscow. He was a multiple-time Soviet champion in the event. After his competitive career, he worked as a coach.
