Vindication (Crease album)
Vindication is the second and final studio album by the Australian rock band Crease, released in 2005. It followed their debut album, Sounds Like Rain, and represented a shift towards a heavier, more guitar-driven sound.
The album was produced by Matt Lovell, known for his work with bands like Powderfinger and Something for Kate. Vindication features tracks that explore themes of personal struggle, self-discovery, and ultimately, validation. While it showcased the band's musical evolution and garnered positive reviews for its songwriting and production quality, it did not achieve the same commercial success as their debut.
Following the release of Vindication, Crease disbanded, citing creative differences and the challenges of maintaining momentum in the Australian music industry. Despite their relatively short career, Crease and Vindication are remembered by fans for their contribution to the Australian alternative rock scene. The album is considered by some to be a hidden gem of the mid-2000s Australian rock landscape. The singles released from Vindication received moderate airplay on Australian radio stations.
