Victoria Stadium (Northwich)

Victoria Stadium (Northwich) was a football stadium located in Northwich, Cheshire, England. It was the home ground of Northwich Victoria Football Club from 1875 until 2005, making it one of the oldest continuously used football grounds in the world.

The stadium, situated close to the town centre, earned a reputation as a traditional, albeit somewhat dilapidated, non-league ground. It featured a main stand with a covered seating area, a covered terrace behind one goal, and open terracing on the remaining sides. The pitch was known for its uneven surface, often affected by drainage issues.

Throughout its history, Victoria Stadium witnessed numerous Cheshire Senior Cup finals and other significant non-league fixtures. It held a special place in the hearts of Northwich Victoria supporters, who fondly remembered memorable matches and players from its long tenure.

In 2005, Northwich Victoria moved to a newly constructed stadium, The Drill Field (now known as Wincham Park), bringing an end to 130 years of football at Victoria Stadium. The old ground was subsequently demolished and redeveloped for commercial and residential purposes. The name "Victoria Stadium" lives on in the memory of Northwich Victoria fans and in the history of English football.
