Versa (Tanaro)

Versa is a right-bank tributary of the Tanaro river in northwestern Italy, located entirely within the province of Alessandria, Piedmont. It originates on the slopes of Monte Giarolo and flows for approximately 26 kilometers (16 miles) before joining the Tanaro near Tortona. The river's drainage basin is characterized by hills and vineyards, important for the production of wine in the region. The Versa's flow is heavily influenced by seasonal rainfall, experiencing high water levels during autumn and spring and lower flows during the summer months. While not a major river, the Versa plays a role in the local ecosystem and agricultural activities of the area surrounding Tortona.
