Mangamutu

Mangamutu is a small, rural locality in the Tararua District of the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island. It is situated approximately 10 kilometers southwest of Pahiatua.

Historically, Mangamutu was a significant milling and timber processing area. The area's dense native forests provided a readily available resource, and the Mangamutu Stream was utilized for powering mills. This industry contributed significantly to the early development of the region.

Today, Mangamutu is primarily an agricultural area, with farming playing a key role in the local economy. The population is relatively small, and the area retains a rural character.
