Production:
Valhalla was a large-scale production in Denmark, known for its visual effects and its attempt to realistically portray the world of Norse mythology. The film aimed to be a family-friendly adventure while still maintaining the core themes and darker elements of the original comic books and Norse myths.
Reception:
The film received mixed reviews upon release. Some critics praised its visual effects, action sequences, and faithfulness to Norse mythology. Others criticized its pacing, character development, and deviation from certain aspects of the source material.
Differences from the Comic Book:
The film adaptation makes several changes and omissions compared to the Valhalla comic book series. While the basic premise and key characters remain, certain plot points and character arcs are altered or simplified for the cinematic format. Some characters have altered roles or are excluded altogether. These changes were a point of contention for some fans of the original comics.
