Chad Gray

Chad Gray (born October 16, 1971) is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the vocalist for the heavy metal bands Mudvayne and Hellyeah.

Gray's career began in the early 1990s, performing in the local music scene. He gained widespread recognition as the frontman of Mudvayne, a band formed in 1996 in Peoria, Illinois. Mudvayne achieved significant commercial success in the early 2000s with albums like L.D. 50, The End of All Things to Come, and Lost and Found, known for their technical and experimental approach to metal.

In 2006, Gray co-founded the supergroup Hellyeah with members of Pantera, Nothingface, and Damageplan. Hellyeah adopted a more straightforward and groove-oriented style of metal compared to Mudvayne. The band released multiple studio albums, achieving considerable success in the hard rock and metal genres.

Beyond his vocal performances, Gray is also credited with writing and co-writing numerous songs for both Mudvayne and Hellyeah. His vocal style often incorporates a range of techniques, including clean singing, screaming, and guttural growls. Gray's contributions have solidified his place as a prominent figure in the nu metal and heavy metal scenes.
