Valentijn
Valentijn is the Dutch and Afrikaans equivalent of the name Valentine, derived from the Roman Valentinus. It is most commonly used as a male given name, although less frequently it can appear as a surname. The name is strongly associated with Valentine's Day (Dutch: Valentijnsdag), celebrated on February 14th, a day associated with romantic love and affection. In the Netherlands and Belgium, as in many other parts of the world, Valentijnsdag involves the exchange of gifts, cards, and romantic gestures. The name Valentijn, therefore, carries connotations of love, romance, and affection, particularly around the time of the yearly celebration.
