Hiroshi Mori (writer)

Hiroshi Mori (森 博嗣, Mori Hiroshi, born 1957) is a Japanese author, essayist, and former associate professor of architecture at Nagoya University. He is best known for his mystery novels, particularly the Subete ga F ni Naru (Everything Becomes F) series, which features the protagonists Sohei Saikawa and Moe Nishinosono.

Mori graduated from Nagoya University with a doctorate in engineering. Prior to becoming a full-time writer, he taught architecture. He is a prolific author, writing numerous series and stand-alone novels, covering a wide range of genres, including science fiction, fantasy, and philosophical works in addition to his well-known mysteries.

His works are characterized by their intellectual approach to mysteries, often incorporating elements of engineering, mathematics, and philosophy. His writing style is generally considered to be straightforward and logical. He has also written extensively on topics related to technology, science, and society.

Mori's debut novel, Subete ga F ni Naru (Everything Becomes F), won the Mephisto Prize in 1996, launching his career as a writer. Many of his works have been adapted into manga, anime, and live-action television dramas. He is considered a significant figure in contemporary Japanese literature.
