Lauren (Cameroonian footballer)
Lauren Etame Mayer (born 19 January 1977), commonly known simply as Lauren, is a retired Cameroonian footballer who played as a right back.
Lauren began his professional career in Spain, playing for clubs such as Utrera, San Fernando, Sevilla, and Mallorca. He rose to prominence during his time at Arsenal in England, where he played from 2000 to 2007. At Arsenal, he was a key member of the "Invincibles" team that went undefeated in the 2003–04 Premier League season. He won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with Arsenal.
Following his time at Arsenal, Lauren played for Portsmouth and Córdoba. He retired from professional football in 2010.
Internationally, Lauren represented Cameroon. He was a member of the Cameroon national team that won the gold medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics and the Africa Cup of Nations in both 2000 and 2002. He earned over 20 caps for Cameroon.
