Twine (band)
Twine was an American instrumental post-rock band formed in Akron, Ohio in 1998. The band consisted of brothers Chad and Ian Gamble on guitars, Joel Trussel on bass, and Justin Stuller on drums.
Known for their complex arrangements, dynamic shifts, and atmospheric soundscapes, Twine released two full-length albums and a handful of EPs and singles during their active period. Their music blended elements of post-rock, math rock, and ambient music, often drawing comparisons to bands like Tortoise and Mogwai.
Twine's discography includes:
- Declarations of Import (EP, 1999)
- Document #1 (Full-length, 2000)
- Movements in the Sky (EP, 2001)
- The Distance Between (Full-length, 2003)
The band toured extensively throughout the United States, sharing the stage with numerous other post-rock and indie rock acts. While Twine is no longer actively performing, their music continues to be appreciated within the post-rock community for its intricate compositions and emotional depth. The band officially dissolved sometime after the release of "The Distance Between."
