Myntgatan

Myntgatan is a street located in Gamla Stan (the Old Town) of Stockholm, Sweden. It runs approximately north-south, connecting Riddarhustorget (Riddarhuset Square) to Mynttorget (Mynt Square).

Historically, Myntgatan was the location of the Royal Mint (Kungliga Myntet), hence its name, which translates to "Mint Street" in English. The Royal Mint was situated on the western side of the street for several centuries. Although the Royal Mint has since moved to Eskilstuna, the name remains as a historical marker.

The street is characterized by its historic buildings, cobblestone pavement, and narrow width, typical of Gamla Stan streets. Several buildings along Myntgatan have significant historical and architectural value. It's a pedestrian-friendly street, though delivery vehicles and other essential traffic may be permitted at certain times.

Myntgatan is a popular tourist destination due to its location in Gamla Stan and its proximity to several significant landmarks, including the Royal Palace, the Parliament Building (Riksdagshuset), and the Riddarhuset (House of Nobility).
