Tropical Storm Jebi (2013)
Tropical Storm Jebi was a weak tropical storm that affected portions of Japan in the summer of 2013. It formed in the western Pacific Ocean and tracked generally northwestward, making landfall over Shikoku, Japan, on August 2, 2013. Jebi was the tenth named storm of the 2013 Pacific typhoon season.
The storm was characterized by relatively weak winds and a disorganized structure throughout its lifespan. Despite its weak intensity, Jebi brought heavy rainfall to parts of Japan, resulting in localized flooding and landslides. Transportation was disrupted, and some power outages were reported.
Jebi rapidly weakened after making landfall and dissipated over the Sea of Japan on August 3, 2013. Overall, the impacts of Tropical Storm Jebi were relatively minor compared to other tropical cyclones that affect Japan. While there were some disruptions and damage, no fatalities were directly attributed to the storm. Its impact was more related to disruption of daily activities rather than large-scale disaster.
