Tom Leahy (baseball)
Tom Leahy (born October 8, 1954) is a former professional baseball player. Leahy was a right-handed pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the St. Louis Cardinals during the 1980 and 1981 seasons.
Leahy was drafted by the Cardinals in the 6th round of the 1976 MLB Draft. He spent several years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut on September 5, 1980.
During his MLB career, Leahy appeared in 24 games, all in relief. He had a career record of 1-1 with a 4.22 earned run average (ERA). He pitched a total of 36 1/3 innings, striking out 16 batters.
Following his playing career, Leahy remained involved in baseball. His career ended after the 1982 season playing in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization at AAA.
