Tina York

Tina York (born Marion Antoinette Bischoff, April 29, 1954, Bremen, Germany) is a German Schlager singer.

York began her career in the early 1970s, achieving initial success with German-language covers of international hits. Her breakthrough came in 1974 with the song "Wir lassen uns das Singen nicht verbieten" ("We won't let anyone forbid us to sing"), which became a major hit in Germany.

Throughout the 1970s, York continued to release successful singles and albums, becoming a popular figure in the German Schlager scene. Some of her other notable songs include "Liebe ist nur ein Gefühl" ("Love is just a feeling") and "Das alte Haus in Westerland" ("The old house in Westerland").

While her popularity waned somewhat in later decades, Tina York remains a recognizable name in German Schlager music. She continues to perform and release music, often appearing on television shows dedicated to Schlager music. She also competed in the German preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1976 with the song "Ein Lied für Heidelberg," finishing third.
