The European (2009 magazine)

The European was a relaunch of a pan-European, English-language weekly news magazine that was published from 1990 to 1998. The relaunched version, owned by British businessman Chris Brady, ran from March 2009 to October 2009.

History:

The original The European was launched by the Saatchi brothers in 1990 and initially aimed to be a daily newspaper before settling on a weekly magazine format. It ceased publication in 1998 due to financial difficulties.

2009 Relaunch:

The 2009 relaunch positioned The European as a platform for commentary and analysis on European affairs, with a focus on economics, politics, and culture. It adopted a website and print format. Despite attracting a number of notable contributors, the relaunched magazine failed to gain sufficient traction and ceased publication in October 2009. The website remained active for a time after the print publication ended, but is no longer maintained.
