Simon Says (band)

Simon Says was an American rock band formed in Sacramento, California, in 1992. The band's sound primarily blended elements of alternative rock, hard rock, and nu metal. They gained prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The original lineup consisted of Zac Diebels (vocals), Matt Franks (guitar), Mike Johnston (bass), and Dave Lee (drums). They released several independent albums before signing with Roadrunner Records. Their major label debut album, Jump Start, was released in 1999 and featured the singles "Get in Line" and "Dysfunctional."

Following Jump Start, the band experienced internal issues, including lineup changes. In 2001, they released their second album, Shut Your Mouth and Open Your Eyes, on Victory Records. This album saw a shift toward a heavier sound. Shortly thereafter, the band dissolved.

Members of Simon Says have since pursued other musical projects. Zac Diebels went on to perform and record under different names. Matt Franks has been involved in various musical ventures, and Mike Johnston has remained active in the Sacramento music scene. While Simon Says has been inactive for many years, their music continues to be discovered by fans of late 90s and early 2000s alternative and hard rock.
