Thomas Lloyd (Dean of Bangor)

Thomas Lloyd (born 1756, died 1834) was a Welsh clergyman and academic who served as the Dean of Bangor from 1792 until his death. He was also the Rector of Llanfairfechan and held several other ecclesiastical positions in North Wales. Lloyd was educated at Jesus College, Oxford, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1779 and a Master of Arts degree in 1782.

As Dean of Bangor, Lloyd oversaw the administration of Bangor Cathedral and played a significant role in the religious life of the region. He was known for his dedication to his pastoral duties and his efforts to promote education and religious understanding within his diocese.

While details of his specific publications or major theological contributions are scarce, the position of Dean of Bangor held considerable importance in the Church in Wales, and Lloyd's tenure would have involved managing the cathedral's affairs, overseeing the clergy, and representing the church in the wider community. He was succeeded as Dean of Bangor by James Henry Cotton.
