Kosmos 37
Kosmos 37 (Russian: Космос 37 meaning Cosmos 37) was a Soviet satellite launched as part of the Kosmos program. It was a scientific research satellite, specifically a test flight of the 3MV-4 spacecraft design. Its primary mission was to conduct studies of the Earth's upper atmosphere and near-Earth space environment. Launched on July 1, 1964, from Baikonur Cosmodrome Site 1/5, Kosmos 37 carried various instruments to measure parameters such as energetic particles, magnetic fields, and micrometeoroids. It was placed into a low Earth orbit and operated for a limited time, after which it decayed and re-entered the Earth's atmosphere. The data collected by Kosmos 37 contributed to a better understanding of the radiation environment and the effects of solar activity on the Earth's magnetosphere.
